FAQ

Q: You write like you’ve never played this game before. Is that intentional? Are you faking it?
A: #1: Yes. Kinda unavoidable because #2: No! More backstory about why this is a “blind” playthrough on the “About” page.

Q: Why is it called the Zelda Email Blog?
A: Umm… yeah, that’s why I put quotations around the world “email” in the title of the About page… Seriously, easiest way to explain that is in the “About” page!

Q: Is this a walkthrough?
A: Nope, it’s a comedic commentary. I make no guarantee to cover everything in the game. (If you want a walkthrough – have you checked out GameFAQs?)

Q: Do I need to have played Wind Waker before to understand this?
A: Not really, no. It might help fill in some gaps I may leave in my commentary (telling the story, remember, is a secondary goal of this – main goal is funny commentary!), but I’ve definitely been watching out for it since I was made aware that a large portion of my friends who read/may read this actually haven’t played Windwaker.

Q: You use the word “crud” a lot… “crud you?” What’s up with that?
A: It’s kinda my thing. I don’t swear (although I’m used to hearing it, and it doesn’t bother me a huge amount unless it’s just plain ridiculous…), and that’s my replacement for just about every swear word. And yes, this can then lead to phrases such as “crud you.” It’s basically just a normal phrase to me – kinda like “dang you.” :D If that doesn’t work well with you, then, well… crud you! XD But no, seriously. I’m not going to start swearing just because you think “crud” is a dumb word, if that’s what you wanted.

Q: You mention “the original series” here and there. Could you post that for us to read?
A. Yay, you read the About page! Er, maybe…
Anyway, that’s on my todo list. The thing is, (as explained in further detail on, again, the About page XD,) those were written in a different format that I’d have to experiment with and see how exactly I’d want to translate it to work in a blog format like this. Also, those were written three years ago, and you can kinda tell at times… but it is a plan of mine.

Q: These posts are so loooong… whhhhhy?
A. That’s just the way it works. I do write about quite a bit of what happens in this game, and I often have a lot to say. Again, if that doesn’t quite work for you, sorry.

Q: Isn’t this a Let’s Play?
A: This one’s kinda lengthy, so I’m moving it to its own page. Short answer: styling’s a bit different, but kind of.
Also worth noting here: I had no idea what a Let’s Play was back when I wrote the original series back in 2009.

Q: Isn’t there an RSS feed somewhere around here?
A: If you know what that is – I would NOT recommend subscribing to it. Seriously. I have a tendency to make a lot of little changes and tweaks to posts, and WordPress makes it so that every time I make an edit to an existing post, a new RSS update is sent out. I would seriously disable it if WordPress let me, but… they don’t. Which really stinks. So unless you want the potential for crazy spam, don’t do it.
If you don’t know what that is – Don’t worry about it.

Q: Dude, this is awesome! Where can I get more of your writing? Can you post more often?
A. Thanks! You can always follow the official Zelda Email Blog Facebook page, where I might post some little stuff that might not fit too well on here. On posting more often, though, probably not. My real life gets kinda busy, and writing long posts like this can be a bit draining anyway. But feedback usually never fails to motivate me more for these, so if you like saying something nice, please do so! And if you’ve got some constructive criticism, don’t feel concerned about posting it! Just please don’t go immature-preteen-YouTube-viewer on me and post stuff like “OMG this [insert inappropriate verb]s your [insert family member here]’s [insert body part here].” There’s no point for that, and it’s just plain irritating – if I see it, I’m almost 100% guaranteed to delete it.

So that’s it for now! Check the right side of the page for a chronological post list! (Unless you’re on mobile, then it’s at the bottom.)
